A large Georgia school district engaged Unbounded Solutions to help them find a way to leverage their existing SharePoint with a Documentum deployment to provide a robust, large scale content management system that would create a unique and user friendly portal in which students, teachers, and administration can interact. Using the Documentum Connector for MOSS, along with Documentum Foundation Services and an SOA framework, the Unbounded experts created a portal including custom web parts and pages that created a unique solution to meet the specific needs of the school district.

The final product was dubbed eLocker, a site for students to manage and store documents, and to submit assignments and receive feedback and grades. The Web 2.0 features such as Wikis, Blogs, RSS, Tasks, and Discussion Boards from SharePoint made the portal user friendly and fun, encouraging adoptions by the students. Teachers are able to post assignment, grade submissions, and take care of any administrative tasks as well as have easy communication with students and parents about their progress. The school administration is able to use the portal to distribute school announcements, create schedules, and share important information with teachers. The Unbounded Solutions eLocker solution created a secure, open environment for student-teacher interaction.
