Unbounded Solutions developed a solution for Cherokee County School District that allowed them to leverage their existing SharePoint infrastructure while deploying EMC's Documentum to provide a robust and large scale content management system. The Unbounded solution allows content management of approximately 15 terabytes of documents and 30,000 students, teachers, parents and other users. Unbounded Solutions utilized Documentum Connector for MOSS (DC4M) and also customized the solution using Documentum Foundation Services (DFS) and SOA framework to build custom web parts and pages to allow users to work with documents that were stored in Documentum based on unique business requirements.

In addition to core document management features, the solution also allowed teachers to distribute assignments and homework to students and allowed students to submit their assignments for grading through workflows and lifecycle management. With customized Documentum jobs, Unbounded Solutions automated the process of provisioning new user accounts and sites for new students, teachers and administrators.

Solutions:

•  Student eLocker site for students to manage and store documents as well submit assignments for grading.
•  Allow students to leverage Web 2.0 features such as Wikis, Blogs, RSS, Tasks and Discussion Boards from SharePoint.
•  Allow teachers to distribute assignments, grade submissions and submit vacation requests.
•  Allow principals to distribute school announcements and share documents with teachers
